Why is the price different?

The administration of the Chernobyl exclusion zone makes an exception for citizens of Ukraine and registration of permits to visit the chzo for them is cheaper by an order of magnitude than for citizens of other countries. Accordingly, we cannot but react to this. That is why the citizens of Ukraine go cheaper.

Leaving Kyiv to reach the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and the Zone of Absolute (Mandatory) Resettlement.

The drive from Kyiv to Dytyatky 30-km Zone Checkpoint takes around 2 hours. In order to use the time efficiently, we suggest watching the specially selected videos on the Chernobyl catastrophe. Pit-stop at the gas station is planned on the way. You may take a coffee, have a snack, visit the WC.


10.30 — 10.45

Dytyatky 30-km Zone Checkpoint

- entering the Zone, driving to Chernobyl. Along the way we will be driving through the abandoned villages of Cherevach and Zalissy, and passing by the Uzh river


Chernobyl

Your will see that Chernobyl is virtually a usual Ukrainian small town, where the employees of the power plant and other Exclusion Zone state companies are based. Indeed, being here for the first time it’s hard to imagine that this town has something to do with the catastrophe of 1986.

Leliv 10-km Zone Checkpoint

Kopachi village

Visiting the kindergarten which is the only remaining building in the whole village. The rest of the facilities were buried in the ground. Kopachi village is located 4 km from the power plant.


Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant industrial site

- photo-stop at the cooling pond on the right one can see the unfinished reactors 5 and 6 as well as the huge cooling towers on the left there are nuclear units 1, 2 and 3 and the New Safe Confinement, the so called “Arch”;
- visiting the memorial next to the administrative building of the CHNPP;
- feeding gigantic cat-fish (depends on weather conditions);
- SHELTER-2 “Arch” from the observation point.
You will see the New Safe Confinement at the distance of some 300 meters!

Chernobyl-2 Secret Object. DUGA-1 over-the-horizon radar station

DUGA-1 object is one of the most well-known objects of the former USSR. Its exact name is in fact «5H32». The radar was supposed to detect air targets, like launched intercontinental ballistic missiles. The signal emitted by the radar reminded of a woodpecker hammering. For this reason, the object has been nicknamed “the Russian Woodpecker”.

Chernobyl One Day Tour

  • 07:20 — 07:50 you meet with our team close to the Central railroad station in Kiev at a parking zone. The exact address is — 28 Simona Petlyury Str.

  • 08:00 you go from Kiev to Dytyatky 30 km Zone Checkpoint. It will take 2 hours. While driving you may watch some videos regarding Chernobyl accident. There will be a scheduled stop at a gas station where you may drink some coffee.

  • 10:30 Dytyatky 30-km Zone Checkpoint where you will pass passport control and will be briefed regarding safety rules. There you will enter notorious Exclusion Zone.

  • Chernobyl. You will have the first glimpse at Pripyat that was built for employees of the nuclear power plant. First, stop at the entrance to this town to take some photos. Then you'll visit the memorial “To Those Who Saved The World”.

  • Leliv. 10-km Zone Checkpoint. Admission to 10 km Zone.

  • Village Kopachi. Have a look at a kindergarten that remained the only structure in this vicinity. 4 km remains to the nuclear power plant.

  • ChNPP. Industrial estate. Stop near its cooling reservoir. You will see half-constructed the 5th and the 6th power-generating units. Gigantic cooling stakes. Covert facility “Arch”. Classified installation — 2 “Arch”, viewing deck.

  • Derelict town Pripyat. You will see the Red Forest, the Death Bridge, scheduled stop at the main square with a walking trip, the Hall of Culture “Energetic”, the hotel “Polissya” with an outlook post, a multiple store, a funfair, a well-known Ferris wheel, the cinema “Prometheus”, a sunken jetty, desolated school and kindergarten, Pripyat's swimming pool.

  • Covert Facility “Chernobyl — 2”. Over-the-horizon radar post “DUGA-1”. This is one of the most prominent objects in the former USSR. It was designed for air-delivered threat warnings (launched global range ballistic missiles). This object was called “Russian Woodpecker” since the signals emitted resembled woodpecker rattling.
