HBO TV Channel has shown series about Chornobyl
HBO began broadcasting a mini-series about the Chernobyl disaster. The creators took care of the gloomy, depressive and fear-inspiring atmosphere, which will be close to many Americans now, writes the Washington Post.
The series takes viewers in the morning of April 26, 1986. It was then that the worst technogenic catastrophe happened in Ukraine - the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Toxic cloud, pieces of radioactive graphics, panic, chaos and silencing the scale of the tragedy by the authorities - the consequences of this man-made disaster were fatal to the Scandinavian and European countries.
The series shows the efforts of employees of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, who have done everything possible so that damage to the reactor core did not further aggravate the situation. At the cost of their own lives and health, firefighters fulfilled their duty to their homeland and the whole world, for many it turned out to be the last.
